You've found the wedding dress of your dreams, and now it's time to find the perfect bridal accessories to go with it! The first thing to remember about choosing the perfect finishing touches for your wedding day look is: there's no RIGHT or WRONG way to style your dress!
Time and time again, we see brides stressing over a pair of earrings and you don't have to! Our best piece of advice is to choose your accessories based on what will best reflect your personal style! Rest assured, all of the little details will come together no matter what. You will be stunning, confident, and glowing on your wedding day!
Here are our 3 tips when it comes to styling your wedding dress!
What is the focus-point for your accessories?
In other words, what do you want to stand out the most? (Besides your beautiful face and gown, of course!) For example: maybe you want to highlight the neckline of your gown with a necklace! In this case, we recommend narrowing down what style of necklace you want before choosing the rest of your accessories.
Or - maybe you want to highlight your waistline with a belt! Belts or sashes are perfect for adding a little more sparkle to your gown as well as accentuating your waist! They definitely draw the eye in - so we suggest using your belt as a starting point and working your way around that. Maybe add a pair of statement earrings OR a statement headpiece to balance things out!
Consider your hairstyle
Our second tip is a biggie: consider how you want to wear your hair! Having a general idea of your hairstyle can help you finalize your jewelry and hair accessories, especially!
Going for a statement piece like a headband or halo? Maybe choose a more delicate pair of earrings to complement it. If you prefer a clip or comb in the back, then add a POP in the front with some statement earrings or a necklace!
[gallery link="none" size="large" columns="2" ids="3439,3436"]If you decide to wear your hair down or in a half-up/half-down style like above, we generally suggest that less is more; especially if your gown has straps. If you have too many elements going on, it may pull some of the focus from your face. Don't forget YOU are most important!
PRO TIP: Schedule your hair (and make-up) trial before your gown viewing appointment or accessories appointment! When it comes to styling your wedding dress, seeing everything together is by far the easiest way to finalize your decisions!
Mixing metals
Last, but not least: don't be afraid to mix your metals. You might think we're crazy, but I promise it's OKAY!
Maybe your wedding colors are blush & rose gold, but you prefer silver-toned jewelry. No problem! Or your engagement ring/wedding band are white gold/platinum but you fell in love with a pair of yellow gold earrings? Perfectly fine! Don't stress about the small stuff! Not everything has to be matchy matchy. At the end of the day, the little details will blend seamlessly together.
